Gottlieb Genie Refurbishing project !

Genie (SS) 1979 Gottlieb

Another new friend

Gottlieb Genie 1979 was a 40´th years birthday gift from my friends in end of 2008. The machine has been in storage for many years and is in need of a complete refurbishing.

A lot of dirt and dust was collected on the playfield, but underneath there was a nice playfield with minor wear except for a area in the top where the ball enters playfield from the shooter lane. There was a damage in playfield from a old repair attempt at lane "B". All playfield parts is present without any damage. The backglass is in mint condition.

The System 1 CPU board has damage from battery acid so it need to be replaced. It is quite common that the CPU mounted recharagable "DataSentry" (3.6 V) battery have started to leak after almost 30+ years.
