JK Cabinet to MAME - Arcade project Part V!

SOUND SET-UP

JK Sound

There is a central loudspeaker situated above the players who play a game on the cabinet, which provides a good and direct sound to the players.

JK Sound

The existing loudspeaker who is used in the cabinet is an 8 Ohms and when I connect it to the output for sound on the computer there is no sound in the loudspeaker. The computer's sound card has not enough power to drive this 8 ohm loudspeaker. To get a good sound, I use the two loudspeakers which was with the computer at purchase.

JK Sound

The loudspeakers are picked out from the boxes and fit in the hole where the original 8 ohm loudspeaker was installed.

JK Sound

Test assembly with one of the two loudspeakers.

JK Sound

New holes are drilled and screws are installed for assembling of the loudspeakers in the hole.

JK Sound

One of the loudspeakers are in place, and the second one will sit next to.

JK Sound

The two loudspeakers are mounted and cables has been routed to audio control board that was in one of the loudspeaker boxes.

JK Sound

The speaker grille is mounted in front of the loudspeakers.

JK Sound

New loudspeaker cables are soldered to the audio control board.

JK Sound

Audio Control board is fixed with help of hot melt glue in one of the loudspeakers boxes, loudspeaker box is attached at the bottom of the cabinet, also here hot melt glue is used.

JK Sound

Now is the button for the volume control easily accessible and the computer sends the audio signal to standard PC loudspeakers.
